Good leather shoes can last for years with regular care.
Use cedar shoe trees after each wear to absorb moisture and keep the shape. Rotate pairs so each has a day to dry out.
Brush off dirt regularly and condition the leather every few months to prevent cracking. Polish to restore color and add a protective layer.
Protect shoes from heavy rain when possible, and if they get wet, let them dry naturally away from direct heat. Have a cobbler resole or repair heels before damage reaches the upper.
